The Foster Youth to Independence (FYI) Program

You may qualify for the Foster Youth to Independence (FYI) Program if you meet the following requirements:
- 1You have attained at least 18 years and not more than 24 years of age.
- 2You have left foster care, or will leave foster care within 90 days.
- 3You are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless
What is the FYI Program?
Foster Youth to Independence (FYI) is a program to prevent and end homelessness among youth with a current or prior history of child welfare involvement. Eligible youth will receive up to 36 months of rental and case management assistance. The goals of this program are to:

Housing Assistance is offered for 36 months initially.
Participants are eligible to receive an extension for up to 24 months beyond the 36-month time limit for those who have engaged in at least one of the following activities for not less than 9 months of the 12-month period preceding each extension:
